Kitchen hood cleaning: How to get rid of all filter grease
Cleaning the kitchen hood is one of the most difficult and tedious cleaning processes in the kitchen. But there is a very easy and quick way to clean it and below you will find out how.

Initially, it has to be noted that it is very important to clean the hood filter.
The kitchen hood removes odors from the kitchen, while at the same time it collects all the fat in its filter. Fats can significantly impede the proper operation of the kitchen hood, and therefore significantly reduce its efficiency.

What you need to do
  • First, turn off the general switch and remove the protective grid. You can remove and replace the hood filter. If the filter is made of carbon or fiberglass. You will need to do that every 4 and 2 months, depending on how ofter you use your kitchen hood.
  • However, if your hood filter is metal, fill a large pot with water and just before boiling, add 1/2 cup baking soda to the water. slowly because baking soda will make the water foam abruptly.
  • Then, dip half the filter in the water and leave it there for a while until you see the fat dissolve. Afterwards place the hood filter on the other side and repeat the same process.
  • Allow the filter to dry well before putting it back iin place.
Note: Because the filter will be very hote, hold it with a kitchen glove or towel.
